Former England international defender Gareth Southgate has said that he is determined to return to football management.
The 42-year-old, who has now got all the necessary coaching qualifications, managed Middlesbrough between 2006 and 2009.
"At some point I will probably have a point to prove to myself that I can go and manage a football club again," he told BBC Sport.
"I've got three years' Premier League management experience but I've gone back and coached kids because I wanted to increase my knowledge of coaching.
"The route that I ended up going, I'm stronger and better prepared for it, but it would probably have been a bit less painful doing it another way."
Southgate earned 57 caps for England during his playing career.
