Tiverton Town have appointed what the club believes is one of the youngest chairmen in professional or semi-professional football.
Matthew Conridge, who is just 27 years old, has taken charge of a club that currently ply their trade in the Southern League Division One South and West.
Speaking about the job in hand, businessman Conridge has insisted that club will not be trying to "chase a dream".
"This club will not spend more than it can afford to chase a dream," he told BBC Sport. "If we can't afford a budget to go to Blue Square Bet South we won't pay it.
"You see time in, time out, a new chairman comes in and grabs the limelight, but when reality strikes it all falls apart.
"I will not in a million years put this club under any financial strain or pressure to chase headlines for my ego, we won't chase unsustainable dreams that's for sure."
Conridge currently runs the online firm Mamka.
