UEFA have announced that they have ended their sponsorship deal with Russian company Gazprom, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Gazprom – a state-owned energy corporation based in Saint Petersburg – has been one of UEFA's primary sponsors for its major competitions since 2012.

However, UEFA has taken the decision to immediately cancel their sponsorship deal, believed to be worth around £50m per year.

A statement on their official website read: "UEFA has today decided to end its partnership with Gazprom across all competitions.

"The decision is effective immediately and covers all existing agreements including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA national team competitions and UEFA EURO 2024."

FIFA and UEFA have also announced the suspension of all Russian clubs and the national team from participating in their tournaments with immediate effect.
