Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has resigned from his position less than 24 hours after he had guided his nation to the Africa Cup of Nations title.
The 51-year-old, whose future had been the subject of much speculation during the tournament, has admitted that the time was right for him to step down.
"I did what I feel is right by resigning," he told Metro FM. "I gave the NFF a letter last night after the celebrations."
Keshi is only the second person to have won the tournament as both a player and a coach.
