Southend United boss Phil Brown has criticised his side for their lack of "fight" following Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Northampton Town.
The Shrimpers are now without a win in their last eight games, but are still in the promotion picture in League Two, with 49 points leaving them in seventh spot in the table.
"Northampton fully deserved to win the game - they looked like they were fighting for their lives and we've got to start fighting like that ourselves," he told reporters at a press conference.
"We need that mentality between now and the end of the season. Regardless of where you are in the division, we've got to fight like they fought - like our lives depend on it."
Southend have lost 10 of their 33 league games this season.
