Northampton Town teenager Ivan Toney has signed a one-year contract extension with the Cobblers.
The 18-year-old broke into the Northampton first team in 2013-14, making 13 appearances and scoring three crucial goals in the final two games as the Cobblers stayed up on the last day of the season.
His previous contract was due to expire in two years' time, but he has now agreed improved terms that will see him remain at the club until 2017.
"We wanted to offer him improved terms for a longer period that more accurately reflects the progress he has made," Cobblers boss Chris Wilder told the club website.
"He has still got a long way to go and Ivan knows that competition for places will be tough next season, but if he keeps working hard and progressing he could have a very bright future in the game."
Toney becomes the second Northampton player to sign a contract in two days after yesterday's new deal for Chris Hackett.
