The Canaries come from behind to end Nottingham Forest’s unbeaten home league run.

Boss Daniel Farke felt Norwich had secured their biggest win of the season so far with their 2-1 success at Nottingham Forest – and heralded his side’s threat from set-pieces.

Defender Timm Klose netted twice, the equaliser from a free-kick and the winner from a corner, to help the Canaries come from behind to claim three points which moved them into fifth place.

Lewis Grabban had given the home side the lead against his former club in the fifth minute but, after Joe Lolley had hit the bar, it was the visitors who took charge.

Farke was delighted with the performance – and the result.

“It probably is that kind of result,” said Farke, when asked if it was a win that would make the Championship sit up and take note.

“But we are in good shape, it was a good result and people might now be looking at us and thinking that we deserve a little more respect.

“We will take that and hopefully we can build on it.

“Each and every win is important and big and we have had some big wins – but, yeah, this might have been our biggest so far.

“We knew before the game what good shape Nottingham had been in and with the performance, as well as the win, we can be encouraged.

“We controlled 75 minutes of the game, we had more possession, we had more shots and chances. It was a massive win and it feels like the biggest so far.”

Farke was delighted to see Klose score twice, adding: “It is so important to have a threat from set-pieces and we had spoken about it this week.

“You need some goals from other positions at times and I am totally pleased that Timm Klose were there for two goals.

“That is so important. Sometimes set-piece goals can win you games like this. I am pleased that my central defenders are starting to score.”

Forest boss Aitor Karanka lamented the lack of “intensity” from his side after they had dominated the opening 15 minutes before fading away as the game went on.

He said: “We paid for not getting the second goal in the first 15 minutes.

“We had chances but we did not score and we have to know that more games like today will arrive – we need to play with our intensity.

“It is only two weeks since we played really well against Middlesbrough. We are really good when we play the way we know we can play and if we do not play in that style, without that intensity, we will have problems in every game.

“I am disappointed because we started the game really well. We scored a goal, we hit the bar and we had another chance as well.

“We started to lose our intensity and we knew that, if you do not play with a lot of intensity against teams like Norwich, they have very good players, they play well and if you allow them to play, it is always dangerous.

“We were winning 1-0 at half-time and I told them to go for the second, not to just defend. If you just defend against teams like Norwich, that is not the right thing.

“But we could not find our intensity in the second half. We needed to keep going, we need to finish games better than we did.”
