Billy Davies has said that 'a case of self-destruction' cost Nottingham Forest in their FA Cup defeat to Sheffield United earlier today.
The Championship side lost 3-1 at Bramall Lane, despite leading at half time against the League One strugglers.
The manager told the club's official website: "I think the first 45 minutes were good. But the second 45 was a case of self-destruct with the goals we gave away, there's no doubt about it.
"I think we should have had a penalty, but in the second half we gave them a lift through an individual error. We pressed the self-destruct button and as the game went on they probably wanted it more.
"I felt very comfortable for most of the game, but you just can't give a team like that a lift. It was very disappointing after playing well in the first 45 minutes."
The tie had looked to be heading for a replay until Chris Porter scored a late brace.
