Dougie Freedman calls for Nottingham Forest focus

Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman says that his players must remain focused on their next game rather than thinking about a playoff push.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has warned his players that they must not start dreaming of the playoffs, but instead focus on their next game.

The Reds made it five wins from six under the Scot with a 3-0 win at Reading on Saturday and moved to within 10 points of the top six in the process.

Freedman says that, while he is pleased with Forest's form, the team cannot afford to get carried away just yet.

"The playoffs, for me, are still a far, far reach away. I cannot control the teams who are in the positions above us, so I am not really going to use any of my energy looking at that. I will use my energy to make sure my players go about their business in a professional way," Freedman told the Nottingham Post.

"I tell them exactly what is expected of them. If they do start thinking about anything beyond the next game, then the chance will always go away from you. That is where our focus needs to be.

"My thinking and my experience tells me just to work on the next training session and on the next game, then the results will come."

Forest travel to Charlton Athletic on Tuesday evening.
