Nottingham Forest midfielder Adlene Guedioura has said that his strike from inside his own half against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday would have been the best goal he had ever scored had it have gone in.
Algerian Guedioura, in his second spell with Forest, saw his long-range shot tipped over the bar by West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone during last Tuesday's 1-1 draw at the City Ground, but has vowed to keep trying his luck from range.
Forest were 1-0 up at the time after Guedioura had given them the lead in the 59th minute, only for Matt Phillips to equalise in the 87th minute.
Guedioura, 32, told Nottinghamshire Live: "I think it would have been the best goal I had ever scored, yes.
"If I have the opportunity I will try. Joao [Carvalho] spotted in the first half that the keeper was a bit high in his positioning and we all said that, if we had a chance to do it, we should do it. I kept it in mind and I tried it, when the chance came."
Guedioura won Forest's Goal of the Season award in 2011-12 during a previous loan spell with the club.
