Crystal Palace moved to within five points of the play-off places with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Palace enjoyed a solid spell of early possession and might have taken the lead after barely four minutes when Glen Murray struck from distance, but his shot drifted just wide.
The home side began to influence the match as the half progressed, however, with Jonathan Greening and Andy Reid enjoying a productive half of football.
Forest continued to dominate proceedings in the second half but it was the away side who opened the scoring after 56 minutes when the lively Wilfried Zaha fed Murray who finished from close range.
The goal shocked Forest but they could not respond as the away side held on to all three points.
Nottingham Forest will look to return to winning ways when they face Bristol City next weekend, while Crystal Palace host Birmingham on Monday night.
