Ben Watson has been tipped to sign for Nottingham Forest after leaving Watford on the last day of the January transfer window.
The 32-year-old midfielder terminated his contract with the Hornets on deadline day, making him a free agent.
Watson is believed to have had the first part of a medical with the Reds on Friday and, according to the Daily Mail, will be confirmed as a Forest player on Monday on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Watford manager Javi Gracia is quoted by the Nottingham Post as saying: "I think it was a good option for the player and he wanted to choose that option.
"I like Ben Watson, what he does, but if it's good for the club and player, that's fair enough."
Forest boss Aitor Karanka signed Costel Pantilimon, Jack Colback, Adlene Guedioura, Joe Lolley, Lee Tomlin, Ashkan Dejagah and Tobias Figueiredo on deadline day.
