Filip Djordjevic struck a hat-trick for Lazio to down winless Palermo 4-0 at the Stadio Renzo Barbera this evening.
A fine solo run from Franco Vazquez almost led to the game's first goal for the hosts, but his strike ended narrowly wide of the target.
Moments later Andrea Belotti came close himself to giving Palermo the lead, although he failed to get the better of Federico Marchetti from close range.
It was the Biancocelestio who edged ahead, however, when Djordjevic slotted the ball into an empty net after being picked out by Antonio Candreva.
Paulo Dybala looked to catch out Marchetti with his shot shortly after the interval, but the keeper was equal to the effort to deny the Rosanero a leveller.
Palermo stepped up their search for a goal, and once more they were only denied by Marchetti when Luca Rigoni's goal-bound header was well kept out.
Djordjevic got a vital second for Lazio 15 minutes from time when he showed the composure needed to find the bottom corner following Senad Lulic's pass into the box, while the Serbian striker added his third shortly after with a low drive from close range.
Marco Parolo piled further misery on Palermo at the death when he converted from a free kick into the box, sending Lazio up to ninth place in the Serie A table.
