Perugia have confirmed that Alessandro Nesta has agreed to become the club's new manager.
At the weekend, reports began to emerge that the Italy and AC Milan legend had agreed to replace Roberto Breda, who left the club after the 1-1 draw with Novara.
Perugia are looking to earn promotion to Serie A through the playoffs, and Nesta admits that he is 'enthusiastic' to take on the position at Stadio Renato Curi.
The 42-year-old said: "It's been a while. I don't remember the last time I was at this stadium. I come here with great enthusiasm.
"This is a real football club. The team are strong and would be with me and any other coach."
Nesta's only previous managerial role came at American side Miami FC.
