Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's action in Scottish League One as Forfar Athletic go top of the table with a 2-1 win over Stirling Albion.

Forfar Athletic got the better of Stirling Albion with a 2-1 victory at Station Park to go top of Scottish League One.

Darren Dods scored for the hosts before Steven Doris struck Albion's equaliser on the stroke of half time.

Martyn Fotheringham grabbed the winner for Forfar 10 minutes from time to send them top.

Forfar's win means Stranraer are now second after they recorded a convincing 4-1 win away to Peterhead.

Jamie Stevenson struck for the home side after just four minutes, but the visitors responded through Frank McKeown's 14th-minute goal.

Grant Gallagher then gave Stranraer the lead just after the hour mark, before Craig Malcolm and Chris Aitken wrapped up the victory.

Colin McMenamin hit a hat-trick for Stenhousemuir as they beat Ayr United 3-2 at Somerset Park.

The striker scored his fifth goal of the season on 12 minutes before Scott McLaughlin responded for the home side shortly before the half-hour mark.

McMenamin added his second shortly before the break and completed his treble eight minutes into the second period as Alan Forrest scored an 89th-minute effort for Ayr.

Airdrieonians recorded a comfortable 3-1 win over Dunfermline Athletic at the Excelsior Stadium.

Brian Punty scored just his second goal in over 30 appearances for the home side after just three minutes, before Nathan Blockley doubled the advantage 10 minutes into the second period.

Marc Fitzpatrick then put the gloss on the result after the hour mark, before Gregor Buchanan added a late consolation.

Meanwhile, Greenock Morton found themselves two goals down to Brechin City before forcing a 2-2 draw at home.

Andy Jackson and Sam Mason-Smith scored inside the first 20 minutes as Brechin raced into a two-goal lead.

However, second-half goals from Jamie McCluskey and Declan McManus gave Morton a share of the spoils.

Full results: Airdrieonians 3-1 Dunfermline, Ayr 2-3 Stenhousemuir, Forfar 2-1 Stirling Albion, Greenock Morton 2-2 Brechin City, Peterhead 1-4 Stranraer.
