Micky Adams has said that he would like to see a response from Port Vale at the weekend, after exiting two cup competitions.
The League Two side lost to Sheffield United in the FA Cup on Saturday, before Bradford knocked them out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday.
The club's manager told BBC Radio Stoke: "I'm just thankful it wasn't a league game.
"But I think you'll see a better performance from us on Saturday.
"We're enjoying a good season and that's what we've got to concentrate on now."
Port Vale, who sit second in the table, host Chesterfield on Saturday.
