Port Vale boss Micky Adams has revealed that midfielder Sean McAllister will not be signing a new contract with the club.
McAllister's contract will expire on January 8, but Vale's decision not to offer him a new deal means that the player is free to look for a new team.
"It's unfortunate that we weren't able to offer Sean more first-team opportunities but that underlines the competition for places we have among the squad. He's a great professional and we wish him the very best of luck for the future," Adams told the club's official website.
McAllister joined Vale in November.
