Portugal boss Fernando Santos has admitted that his side were "very, very bad" at times during last night's 1-0 win over Argentina.
Raphael Guerreiro headed home a stoppage-time winner as the Portuguese beat their South American counterparts at Old Trafford, but Santos says that the result papered over the cracks.
"The first 20 minutes our team were very, very bad," he told RTP. "We allowed Argentina to play and we were always late to the ball. We have the capacity to do more.
"We defended better [in the second half] but always had difficulty getting out to attack. In the last 10-15 minutes the opponent dropped a bit and we ended up making the goal."
The pre-match talk had centred around Cristiano Ronaldo renewing his individual rivalry with Lionel Messi, but both Ballon d'Or nominees were substituted at the break after indifferent displays.
