Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly keen to link up with Porto and Portugal midfielder Joao Moutinho at Tottenham Hotspur.
Villas-Boas is the odds-on favourite to fill the vacant manager's position at White Hart Lane, with reports suggesting that his appointment could be announced by the start of next week.
Luka Modric is expected to depart North London this summer, with Chelsea and Real Madrid said to be competing for his signature, and Villas-Boas has told Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that Moutinho would be an ideal replacement for the Croatian, according to the Daily Star.
Moutinho, 25, has a £40m release clause in his contract with the Portuguese champions.
