Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Kylian Mbappe will miss Saturday's Ligue 1 opener with Clermont due to an adductor injury.
The 23-year-old - who signed a new contract at the Parc des Princes until 2025 earlier this summer - missed the Trophee des Champions victory over Nantes last month due to suspension.
Mbappe was expected to make his comeback at the Stade Gabriel-Montpied, but an adductor problem means that Les Parisiens will have to cope without the forward on Saturday.
PSG have revealed that a fresh update on Mbappe's condition will be provided in 72 hours' time as he attempts to recover for the visit of Montpellier HSC on August 13.
Christophe Galtier's side only have one other injury concern to work around for the opening day in the form of Julian Draxler (knee), but the Germany international is being strongly linked with an exit anyway.
Nordi Mukiele and Vitinha will hope to make their Ligue 1 debuts for the reigning champions this weekend, and Hugo Ekitike has made the cut after missing out on a place in the Trophee des Champions squad, but recently-signed Renato Sanches has not made the cut.
Leandro Paredes is also in the squad despite speculation surrounding his own future, but Georginio Wijnaldum and Idrissa Gueye are absent as they close in on moves to Roma and Everton respectively. Mauro Icardi, Thilo Kehrer, Ander Herrera, Rafinha and Eric Ebimbe are also nowhere to be seen on the squad list
