Former Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has his ban from football lifted by the Paris Administrative Court.

Former Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo is "happy and relieved" after having his long-term suspension from football temporarily lifted.

The Brazilian was banned from the game until June 30, 2014 for pushing referee Alexandre Castro following PSG's 1-1 draw with Valenciennes in Ligue 1 on May 5.

However, his appeal to the Paris Administrative Court has proved successful as the ban was lifted on Tuesday.

"Leonardo is happy and relieved," Goal.com quotes the Brazilian's lawyer Paul Mauriac as saying. "His persistence was awarded. It was a key step."

Leonardo is now free "commit to a club".
