Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has admitted that he is unsure whether or not Edinson Cavani will be fit in time to face Montpellier HSC on Friday.
The 26-year-old is currently out of fitness, having returned to pre-season late following his involvement in the Confederations Cup earlier this summer with Uruguay.
Cavani recently stepped up his training programme, and Blanc is hoping that the player will be ready in time for the opening match of the Ligue 1 campaign later this week.
"After a personalised training programme, Edinson rejoined training with the rest of the squad on Tuesday," Blanc told the club's official website.
"He is continuing to get back to top form and we will give him another 24 hours to see if he will travel to Montpellier.
"He arrived late and is behind the rest of the squad in terms of preparation, but he has worked hard to get ready as quickly as possible."
Cavani joined PSG for £55m from Napoli in July.
