Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly told midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa that he can leave the club this summer.
According to L'Equipe, PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has informed the player's representatives that their client should "seek a new challenge" elsewhere.
Ben Arfa joined PSG from Nice last summer but made just five starts last season under manager Unai Emery.
However, a statement issued by the France international's lawyer Jean-Jacques Bertrand suggests that he could resist a move away from his boyhood club this summer.
His representative said: "PSG made us understand that Hatem is free to leave, but we made them understand he won't just leave like that."
The report goes on to say that former Newcastle United man Ben Arfa could bide his time until January and sign a pre-contract agreement elsewhere.
