Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has confirmed that Monaco left-back Layvin Kurzawa is on the brink of joining his side.
Speculation has mounted that the Ligue 1 champions had tabled an improved bid for the 22-year-old - who was left out of their Champions League exit to Valencia on Tuesday - after failing with an initial £13m offer.
Blanc, whose side finished 13 points ahead of third-placed Monaco last season, told France Bleu: "It was a delicate deal.
"He is a Monaco player, so it was difficult to sign him from a team that will fight us for the title.
"So the transaction was difficult. Once again, I would like to thank the board, the president and [sporting director] Olivier Letang. He is a very good player, a young player with a great deal of potential for PSG."
The France international is contracted to the principality club until 2018.
