Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Carlos Soler is reportedly en route to London to complete his medical ahead of a season-long loan move to West Ham United.
The Hammers have been negotiating to sign the Spanish midfielder for several weeks, with Julen Lopetegui advocating strongly for his acquisition.
Despite being presented with alternative options by technical director Tim Steidten, the West Ham Boss is believed to have had his heart set on securing Soler above anyone else.
Based on reports today, it looks like the Spaniard's wish will be granted, with a deal in place for the 27-year-old to join the Irons on deadline day.
"Here we go!" Soler heading to London for medical
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Soler is expected to arrive in England later today to complete a medical with the East London club before finalising his move.
The arrangement will be a loan move, and it remains uncertain whether the deal will include an obligation to buy the Spain international at the end of the term.
Soler joined PSG in 2022 from Valencia for £15m and has made 50 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants, often coming off the bench under manager Luis Enrique.
West Ham have already spent over £120m this summer on eight new signings, including the likes of Niclas Fullkrug, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jean-Clair Todibo.
Reports indicate that there might be more signings at the London Stadium before the deadline, with West Ham believed to be reaching out about a potential move for Spurs midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
Lo Celso is widely expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur stadium before the transfer window slams shut after falling out of favour under Ange Postecoglou.
Ward-Prowse set to depart West Ham before deadline
The news around Soler's arrival at the London Stadium comes after it was reported that James Ward-Prowse is set to undergo a medical at Nottingham Forest after agree a loan deal with the Reds.
The former Southampton player has seen his role in the Hammers' lineup diminish since Lopetegui's arrival, and the imminent move of Soler will exacerbate this issue.
Reports suggest that Ward-Prowse has already bid farewell to his West Ham teammates and left the training ground this morning to finalise his transfer to the City Ground.
Additionally, winger Maxwel Cornet could also be on the move, with interest being shown by both Crystal Palace and Southampton. body check tags ::
