Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe was allegedly promised that the club would bring in Robert Lewandowski, Milan Skriniar and Bernardo Silva during the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old elected to sign a new three-year deal with the French champions earlier this year, but he is now believed to be pushing for an exit from the club.
Mbappe snubbed interest from Real Madrid to extend his stay in Paris, but he has supposedly been left 'betrayed' by the board over unfulfilled promises that were made when he put pen to paper.
Mbappe's overall role at Parc des Princes and in the first team under Christophe Galtier are understood to be some of his frustrations, as well as PSG's failures in the summer transfer window.
Galtier and Luis Campos did bring in Renato Sanches, Vitinha, Carlos Soler, Fabian Ruiz, Nordi Mukiele and Hugo Ekitike, and a wealth of big names were also linked with moves to the French capital.
According to journalist Romain Molina - via GFFN - PSG promised Mbappe that the club would sign Lewandowski, Silva and Skriniar while he was discussing fresh terms.
However, none of the trio made the move to the Parc des Princes, as Barcelona won the race to sign Lewandowski from Bayern Munich, and Silva remained at Manchester City despite links with PSG and Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Galtier has now confirmed that PSG tried to make a move for Inter Milan centre-back Skriniar in the summer, with the 27-year-old out of contract at the end of the season.
Inter's price tag proved too steep, though, and PSG ultimately walked away from a deal to sign Skriniar, who is still due to become a free agent in the summer of 2023.
Mbappe's exit routes from the Parc des Princes are seemingly limited, as Real Madrid have reportedly decided not to reignite their interest after missing out on a summer deal.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are regarded as the only other realistic contenders for Mbappe's signature, but the Reds already forked out £64m to poach Darwin Nunez from Benfica.
Mbappe has come up with 183 goals and 88 assists in 230 outings for PSG since 2017, but he is reported to have been targeted by a social media smear campaign set up by those inside PSG.
A report from Mediapart alleged that members of the Parisiens communications department created fake Twitter accounts to send abusive messages to the ex-Monaco man, which were first concocted in 2019.
PSG have "strongly denied" trying to purposely tarnish Mbappe's reputation, but the relationship between the French champions and the striker is now said to be completely broken.
Mbappe has struck 12 goals in 13 outings for PSG this term, while both Galtier and football advisor Campos have tried to play down rumours that the World Cup winner wants to leave. body check tags ::
