Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly lodged an improved offer for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani.
The French champions are already thought to have fallen short with one offer for the former Nantes man, as Frankfurt turned down a €70m (£60.1m) approach.
Luis Enrique's side have already made significant attacking additions this summer, bringing in Goncalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembele and Marco Asensio following Lionel Messi and Neymar's exits.
PSG are also set to retain Kylian Mbappe's services for at least another year, and the French attacker is back with the main squad following a brief exile amid his contract stand-off.
Nevertheless, Les Parisiens are thought to be making a sustained effort to bring Kolo Muani to the Parc des Princes before the transfer window closes, and Sky Deutschland reports that a new bid has now been submitted.
The outlet claims that PSG have offered €80m (£68.7m) including bonuses for the 24-year-old, who is pining for a switch to the French champions and wants a deal to be concluded imminently.
With Kolo Muani still contracted to Die Adler for another four years, though, Frankfurt have refused to budge on their €100m (£85.9m) asking price, but such a fee is deemed wholly unrealistic.
In order to drive the price down, PSG could also throw in unwanted striker Hugo Ekitike as part of the deal, only a few weeks after signing him on a permanent basis from Reims.
Les Parisiens beat Newcastle United to Ekitike's signature last summer, but he managed just four goals in his debut season and is yet to start a Ligue 1 game in the 2023-24 campaign.
With PSG hoping to deploy Kolo Muani in an attacking triumvirate with Dembele and Mbappe, the Ligue 1 giants will entertain appropriate bids for Ekitike, and they have allegedly given the thumbs-up to a proposed move to Brentford.
AC Milan are also thought to be keeping a close eye on the situation, but PSG will reportedly "cancel everything" regarding negotiations with other clubs for Ekitike if Frankfurt registered an interest in the youngster.
During Ekitike's breakthrough campaign with Reims in 2021-22, Kolo Muani averaged a goal every three games for Nantes - winning the Coupe de France in the process - and posted a remarkable set of numbers in his debut season with Frankfurt, recording 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 matches across all tournaments.
The France international has already found the back of the net three times in four matches during the 2023-24 campaign, but Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche has supposedly been warned that Sunday's draw with Mainz could prove to be his last game for the club.
Manchester United were believed to be pushing for Kolo Muani's signature earlier in the window, but the Red Devils opted to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta BC instead given Kolo Muani's nine-figure price tag.
