Sergio Ramos announces desire to extend Paris Saint-Germain contract

Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos announces his desire to extend his stay in the French capital beyond the summer of 2023.

Sergio Ramos has announced that he is keen to extend his Paris Saint-Germain contract beyond the summer of 2023.

The 36-year-old penned a two-year deal in the French capital upon his arrival from Real Madrid last summer but has endured a nightmare first season at the Parc des Princes with injuries.

Ramos has been linked with an early exit from the club after making just seven appearances so far in the 2021-22 campaign, during which he has also been booed by his own supporters.

The centre-back has now affirmed that he would rather pen an extension at PSG than leave, telling Amazon Prime: "I'd like to play for another four to five years at a high level, and then experience something else.

"I have two years here in Paris, we'll try to make that three! One more, and then we'll see. But as long as the body holds up, I think I can keep my head well focused."

Ramos scored his first goal for PSG in a 4-0 Ligue 1 win over Reims in January and played the full 90 in the weekend's 6-1 victory over Clermont. body check tags ::
