Former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira has called for stronger action to be taken in order to stamp out racism in football.
Football has seen a number of incidents involving racism recently and Vieira believes that only points deductions and bans will help the situation.
The former France captain also stated that "clear, strong punishments" are needed in a bid to help clubs control their fans.
Vieira told The Times: "That will stop it, of course. If you kick a club out of Europe because they couldn't control their fans, it will happen once and I will guarantee it's not going to happen twice.
"The only way you can stop it is to have clear, strong punishments."
Vieira is now the football development executive for Manchester City.
