Rangers captain Lee McCulloch has been charged with violent conduct and issued a two-match suspension.
He is accused of deliberately stamping on Raith Rovers forward Dale Carrick during his side's shock Scottish Cup defeat at Ibrox over the weekend.
The 36-year-old defender is contesting the charge and will learn his fate at a hearing scheduled for Thursday.
The Scottish Football Association's compliance officer Tony McGlennan cited a breach of Disciplinary Rule 200, stating: "In that at the above match you did deliberately stand upon Dale Carrick of Raith Rovers FC and commit an act of Violent Conduct."
If his appeal is unsuccessful, McCulloch, who has made nearly 300 appearances for Rangers since joining in 2007, will miss Friday's Scottish Championship match against Hibernian and his next Scottish Cup tie.
