Katic has pulled out of the under-21 squad.

Rangers’ Croatian pair Nikola Katic and Borna Barisic have both reported injury problems to their international set-up.

Centre-back Katic has pulled out of the Croatia Under-21 squad, according to the national federation’s Twitter account.

The 21-year-old has largely been confined to the bench for Rangers in recent weeks and his injury was not specified.

Meanwhile, Barisic is a doubt for Croatia’s Nations League clash with England on Friday and friendly against Jordan next week.

Manager Zlatko Dalic is quoted on the Croatian Football Federation’s website as stating that Barisic has a “muscle rupture” and is unlikely to play in either match.

The left-back was absent as Rangers beat Hearts 3-1 on Sunday.
