Rangers have reportedly failed with a bid for Hibernian midfielder Scott Allan.
The 23-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Easter Road in recent months, with Celtic and Dundee United also reported to be interested in his services.
According to the Edinburgh Evening News, Hibernian were so disappointed with the offer that they immediately replied to reject the proposal, as they look to hold on to one of their key players ahead of another promotion push.
However, the report suggests that the club are expecting Rangers to return with a second bid in the near future.
Allan was named last season's Scottish Championship Player of the Year.
