Rangers have reportedly reached an agreement to sign FC Twente captain Robin Propper.
The Gers have made significant changes to their squad over the summer, having completed the permanent signings of Liam Kelly, Clinton Nsiala, Jefte, Mohamed Diomande, Hamza Igamane and Vaclav Cerny.
Oscar Cortes has also signed a new one-year loan deal from Lens, with an obligation to buy at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
While there have been plenty of new additions, Rangers have also said farewell to a whole host of players, including Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, John Lundstram, Jon McLaughlin, Kemar Roofe and Sam Lammers.
Defender Connor Goldson recently became the latest player to leave Ibrox, completing a permanent move to Cypriot side Aris Limassol.
Rangers on verge of signing Propper
Having seen Goldson depart, Rangers have quickly moved to reinforce their defensive options with the addition of an Eredivisie captain.
According to Sky Sports News, the Scottish Premiership side have agreed a deal with Twente to secure Propper's signature.
The Dutch defender is now set to undergo a medical before he can be unveiled as the latest addition to Philippe Clement's squad.
If everything goes according to plan, Propper should sign in time for Saturday's Scottish Premiership opener against Hearts at Tynecastle.
Propper set for new adventure
Having spent his entire career in the Netherlands, the 30-year-old is set to embark on his first adventure outside of his homeland.
The central defender began his career with De Graafschap, before he went on to spend four years with Heracles Almelo.
Since making the move to Twente in 2021, Propper has made 115 competitive appearances, chipping in with 11 goals during his three-year stay.
After featuring in 349 first-team matches in his career, Propper will add valuable experience to the Rangers backline ahead of the 2024-25 season. body check tags ::
