Reading manager Nigel Adkins has praised the impressive impact made by Adam Le Fondre and Pavel Pogrebnyak in their 7-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at the Madejski Stadium today.
Le Fondre bagged his first ever hat-trick for the Royals to guide them to a record win, while Russian frontman Pogrebynak also got on the scoresheet by netting a penalty late in the first half.
Adkins told reporters: "They looked a massive threat together. They worked extremely hard last week [in the 1-0 win at Watford] - their work rate was phenomenal.
"We didn't allow Bolton to play at all and our pressing was very good. We had a good shape and I thought we thoroughly deserved the victory."
Kaspars Gorkss, Hope Akpan and substitute Nick Blackman rounded off the scoring in the second period, with David N'gog scoring a consolation two minutes from time for Dougie Freedman's side.
