Winger Jimmy Kebe has been offered a new two-and-a-half-year deal by Championship club Reading.
The Frenchman's current deal with the Royals is due to expire at the end of the current season.
Reports had suggested that the 27-year-old was ready to leave the Madejski Stadium this month, but Reading boss Brian McDermott is keen to keep hold of his player.
"I spoke to Jimmy on Tuesday and I want him to stay, we made him an offer," he told Radio Berkshire. "Jimmy now has to digest the offer.
"I've also spoken to the board and they have said he is going nowhere and that is where we are at this moment in time.
"It is a two-and-a-half-year-deal that we have offered him. The board have said they are not looking to sell him."
Kebe joined the Royals in 2008 from Lens.
