Reading owner Anton Zingarevich has insisted that funds are available for manager Brian McDermott to bring in new players during the January transfer window.
The Royals currently sit bottom of the Premier League table and Zingarevich believes that their squad is in need of more experience.
He told BBC Sport: "I don't think we are panicking. Yes, we're in a difficult position.
"At the beginning we didn't give enough respect to the teams we were playing. But we are adapting to it in terms of the shape of the team.
"But we need to add experience to the team we have. I don't think there was an issue with money. We made choices in the summer and stuck with the team we had. But there's definitely money available."
Reading face West Ham United at the Madejski Stadium later this afternoon.
