Reading are said to have snubbed a takeover bid from a British consortium in favour of an offer by a Thailand-based group led by Samrit Bunditkitsada.
The UK consortium was dismissed in favour of its unknown Thai counterparts, despite being fronted by two well-known and experienced British football directors, Sky Sports News reports.
Reading reportedly considered numerous offers, including a bid from an American consortium, over the course of several months before settling on Bunditkitsada's proposal.
The Championship outfit has been seeking new ownership since former majority shareholder Anton Zingarevich pulled out of a bid to assume full control of the club last October.
