Reading will appeal against the red card shown to Kaspars Gorkss in yesterday's Championship match at Queens Park Rangers.
The Latvian defender was shown a straight red card for lunging in on Junior Hoilett in the 71st minute at Loftus Road.
Initially, Royals boss Nigel Adkins said in his post-match interview that he felt it was a fair decision but now, on reflection, the Berkshire club have decided to appeal.
If they fail, then Gorkss will have to serve a four-match ban as it was his second red card of the season.
Even though Gorkss was sent off with 20 minutes on the clock, Reading still won the match 3-1 to cement their place in the playoff places.
