Reading manager Nigel Adkins has told Adam Le Fondre that he needs to "get on with it" after rejecting the striker's plea for a move away from the Madejski Stadium.
Le Fondre revealed earlier this month that he would be open to leaving the Championship club after regularly featuring on the substitutes' bench, but while Adkins respects his player's situation, he has insisted that he won't be sold in January.
The 48-year-old told the Reading Post: "I've got empathy with him in respect that he wants to play games of football.
"But he's got to respect his teammates and respect his club. At the end of the day, he's just got to get on with it. I want him to be at Reading."
The 27-year-old has scored seven times in 20 appearances during the current campaign.
