Former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Kevin Foley is reportedly close to completing a move to Reading on a free contract.
The 31-year-old has been without a club since ending his spell with Danish outfit Copenhagen during the summer.
Shrewsbury Town were initially thought to be the favourites to land the full-back, with boss Micky Mellon revealing earlier this month that the first step to securing a deal was already in place.
Foley has since been given the chance to train with the Royals, though, and it is suggested by The Sun that a permanent move to the Madejski Stadium is now on the cards.
Chris Gunter is Reading's current first-choice right-back, making 20 appearances for the club this season while also representing national side Wales five times.
