Alfredo Ortuno scored an equaliser late on to earn Girona a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid Castilla on Saturday evening.

Girona started the brighter of the two sides, but missed a great opportunity to break the deadlock when Ortuno's close-range effort was kept out by Pacheco.

The home side continued to apply more of the pressure as the break approached, with Ortuno failing to find the target after being picked out in space inside the box.

Girona were made to regret missing their opportunities in the 47th minute when Quini broke forward from full back to complete a flowing move in emphatic style.

Castilla were penned back for most of the second half, and they were unable to prevent Girona from snatching a deserved point when Ortuno finally found his clinical touch in the 90th minute.

Omar Mascarell was shown a red card for a second bookable offence in stoppage time to complete a frustrating end to the match for the visitors.
