Zinedine Zidane has accepted the blame for Real Madrid's surprise 3-2 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.
Having taken the decision to rest a number of players, Zidane watched on as his much-changed team went 3-0 down to their Ukrainian opponents.
Although Los Blancos rallied during the second half, they failed to complete a thrilling comeback, leaving Zidane to contemplate the reasons behind their second successive setback in all competitions.
Speaking to reporters, the Frenchman said: "We lacked the confidence to start the game as we know how. In the first half I did not see the team I wanted to see and that is my fault.
"I have to find the solutions that will make us be strong again and get back to winning."
Real are next in action when they square off against rivals Barcelona in El Clasico on Saturday.
