Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has thanked his teammate Iker Casillas for nominating him for the 2012 FIFA Ballon d'Or.
Casillas picked his Spain international teammate as one of his candidates for the prestigious individual award along with Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona midfielder Xavi.
"I want to thank my great friend Iker for his vote for the Golden Ball," wrote Ramos on his official Twitter page.
Ramos won La Liga with Real Madrid last season and Euro 2012 with Spain in the summer.
