Carlo Ancelotti has suggested that Jude Bellingham is a doubt to face Braga in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
The midfielder has been a revelation since his arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, netting multiple late goals to turn draws into victories.
In total, the England has contributed 13 goals and three assists from his 14 appearances in all competitions, 12 of which have come in La Liga.
However, Bellingham was unable to help Los Blancos return to the top of the standings on Sunday evening as they were held to a goalless draw by Rayo Vallecano.
Bellingham completed the 90 minutes but failed to chip in with a goal or assist for just the third time in a Real shirt.
Upon finishing the match on Sunday, the assumption was that the 20-year-old was fully fit and was a certain starter versus Braga in midweek.
Instead, when speaking to reporters, Ancelotti hinted that he may be forced to rest his current star man due to a minor shoulder injury.
As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, the Italian said: "Bellingham has a problem with his shoulder. He will undergo medical tests tomorrow. I hope he can play on Wednesday against Braga"
Should Bellingham not be passed fit, it would represent the first time that he has not started a competitive fixture for Real since his arrival in Madrid.
Real have already reached a point in Group C where they are on the brink of qualification courtesy of recording three successive victories.
Should a fourth be posted against Braga on home territory, they would guarantee qualification for the last 16, albeit without securing top spot ahead of Napoli.
However, if Real are able to prevail versus Braga, they could finish in first place with a draw against Napoli on matchday five.
In their final game ahead of the international break, Real square off against Valencia at the Bernabeu, three days after the Braga fixture. body check tags ::
