Real Madrid defender Pepe has been hit with a two-match ban for comments he directed at referee Jose Luis Paradas Romero following the final whistle in the 1-1 draw with Villarreal on Wednesday night.
The Portuguese defender was not one of the four individuals that were shown red cards on the night but he has been punished by the Spanish Football Federation's competition committee after they read the referee's report.
Manager Jose Mourinho and midfielder Mesut Ozil have each been suspended for one game, while coach Rui Faria has been given a two-match ban following his dismissal from the bench early in the second half.
Sergio Ramos has escaped an immediate suspension after the Spain defender had the first of his two yellows cards in the game rescinded.
