The agent and father of Ilkay Gundogan believes that the German international should sign a new long-term contract with Borussia Dortmund.
The 22-year-old, whose current deal runs until 2015, is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in European football.
It has been suggested that both Real Madrid and Barcelona are preparing moves for his services, but Irfan Gundogan has called on the player to remain in Germany.
"I am keen to ensure he remains with Borussia Dortmund," Irfan told Kicker Sportmagazin.
"He is doing fine so it's a bit early to move to a club in England or Spain at this point in time.
"Borussia Dortmund will be coming up with an offer of a new contract soon. We will be able to oversee things much better then."
Gundogan scored in the Champions League final defeat to Bayern Munich last season.
