Agent Alejandro Camano has suggested that Achraf Hakimi left Real Madrid for Inter Milan because he would have remained second fiddle to Dani Carvajal.
Despite having impressed during two seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund, Real have allowed the full-back to link up with Inter in a deal worth in the region of £36.7m.
While it was regarded as a surprise move, Camano has indicated that Zinedine Zidane did not have enough belief in the Morocco international's ability.
Speaking to Al Mountakhab, Camano said: "Zidane is the reason Achraf signed for Inter. Now he has to explain why Achraf left.
"I think returning [to Real Madrid] at the moment isn't ideal, given the presence of [Dani] Carvajal. "I'm sure [Achraf]'s future will be bright after making this step."
The 21-year-old left the Bernabeu having made just 17 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions.
