Anzhi Makhachkala coach Roberto Carlos has revealed that the club will try to sign Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when their contracts expire.
The Russian side, who are now managed by Guus Hiddink, have already signed Samuel Eto'o, Yuri Zhirkov and Christopher Samba as they reshape their first-team squad.
"Today, Messi is the best player in the world," Carlos told Radio Marca. "He continues to show that. Cristiano is the key star for Real Madrid.
"I have no preference for either, but certainly Anzhi will try to sign both when their contracts expire."
Carlos joined Anzhi in February 2011 before he took a position behind the scenes at the club.
