Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno has dismissed speculation linking Gonzalo Higuain with an exit from the club.
Reports had suggested that Los Blancos were willing to offer the Argentine striker as bait to lure Manchester City into allowing Sergio Aguero to sign on at the Bernabeu.
However, Butragueno has insisted that Higuain remains a firm part of the club's future plans.
"Rumours seem to be inevitable," he told the club's official website. "But we are delighted with Higuain.
"He is a world-class striker and we want him to stay here for many years. He arrived here very young and we regard him as a club player.
"He has always behaved impeccably whether he plays or not."
Earlier today, Madrid coach Jose Mourinho also denied the rumours.
