Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that he will not leave the club unless he is fired amid speculation over his future in the Spanish capital.
Ancelotti left Everton to return to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2021 for his second spell as Real Madrid manager.
In his first season back at the helm of Los Blancos, he guided his side to the La Liga title and the Champions League trophy.
Ancelotti has a contract with Real Madrid until June 2024, but his future will the club has recently been called into question.
The Italian has recently been linked with the vacant managerial position of the Brazil national team, although he has denied reports that discussions over the role have taken place.
The Brazilian federation also released a statement denying that they had reached an agreement with Ancelotti.
"We can deny any agreement reached with Ancelotti. We suggest to leave the speculations — we will decide and then announce our new head coach at the right moment," the statement read.
After overseeing a 5-3 victory over Al-Hilal on Saturday, which secured Real Madrid the Club World Cup title, Ancelotti claimed that he will not leave the club unless he is fired.
Ancelotti told reporters: "I'm not leaving here until they fire me. I'm delighted to form part of Real Madrid's history.
"We have had a nice time here in Morocco, with lots of Real Madrid fans supporting us. We leave very happy."
After winning the Club World Cup in Rabat, Real Madrid will now turn their attention back to league matters, and they have a mountain to climb if they are to retain their league title.
Los Blancos are currently eight points behind league leaders Barcelona, and that gap could be in double figures by the time Real Madrid face Elche on Wednesday.
They are still involved in the Copa del Rey, where they will face their rivals Barcelona in a two-legged El Clasico semi-final.
Meanwhile, Liverpool await Ancelotti's side in the last 16 of the Champions League, as they dream of retaining the European crown they won last season. body check tags ::
